Step 1. Added coconut oil.Step 2. Added string.Step 3. Subtracted using the tide and time, the bear was submerged for over 12 hours!Step 4. Subtracted the string. I love how removing the string showed the lines where the water caused the string to wear into the soap.Step 5. Subtracted. Using a shell I found on the beach I embossed the surface of the soap.Step 6. Added sea oats.Step 7. Lit the piece on fire using hairspray.Step 8. Had good "clean" fun blowing it up... Subtraction. The second photo shows how far away pieces of the soap landed.Step 9. Added string covered in soap. The soap carving was fun! Carving the proportions of the bears face was challenging. The soap lent itself to carve details and textures easily. This is defiantly something I would enjoy doing again. The non-objective form in the changes portion was challenging for me. Ultimately, I didn't have any idea what I wanted it to look like in the end which made me more experimental with the changes, but the end product could have used work from a design perspective.
